Grand Central Market Downtown Los Angeles

The Grand Central Market is one of my favorite downtown LA spots.  It is full daily of fresh fruits and vegetables brought in to the market from area farms.  The market also has meat markets, herbal tea shops, spice vendors and numerous eateries all surrounded by vintage sign age and fresh sawdust on the floors. It was built in 1917 and today it feels like you can step back in time.

I love coming to the market to buy fresh fruits and vegetables but my favorite place is a little Chinese Cafe which has been operating in the market for over 40 years.  The line starts at 9 am and goes out the door!  They have the best Won Ton Soup I have ever tasted anywhere!  It is a great little dining counter with handwritten tickets and a cash register that never closes.  My  waitress name is America and she is awesome and always make sure that she takes good care of me.  If you are ever in LA.....you must be this on the to do list!
